5. Funaria microstoma Bruch ex Schimp.   小口葫芦藓   xiao-kou hu-lu xian
Flora 23: 850. 1840. Type. Switzerland.
Funaria submicrostoma C. Müll., Linnaea 42: 253. 1979, nom. nud.
 
Plants small, brownish green to reddish brown, in loose tufts. Stems erect, simple, ca. 5–8 mm long. Leaves flexuous or contorted when dry, erect-patent when moist, crowded at stem tips, oblong-ovate to obovate, 2.0–3.5 mm × 0.7–1.0 mm, slenderly acuminate at apex; margins entire throughout; costa percurrent; leaf cells thin-walled, upper cells lax, irregularly rectangular to oblong-rectangular, 75–90 µm × 20–32 µm; basal cells elongate, narrowly rectangular, 130–150 µm × 26–35 µm; marginal cells somewhat differentiated by 1–2 rows of narrower cells. Autoicous. Setae elongate, reddish brown, often twisted and curved in the upper part, 1.5–2.0 cm long; capsules strongly inclined to horizontal, narrowly pyriform, asymmetric, 2–3 mm × 1.0–1.2 mm, sulcate when dry, mouth narrowed, apophyses short; opercula obtusely conic, slightly apiculate; annuli well developed; peristome double; exostome teeth lanceolate, not clearly trabeculate; endostome segments narrower and short, ca. 1/2 the length of the teeth; basal membrane very low. Calyptrae inflated-cucullate, long rostrate. Spores not seen.
