Ecology. Humid puna; exposed wet sites including bogs, on soil, humus and rocks. Elevation. 3780-4700 m. Distribution. Bolivia: Cochabamba, La Paz. World range: Endemic to the tropical Andes.

Campylopus edithae is characterized by the equally foliate stems, appressed lanceolate leaves 4-5 mm long, apices incurved, costa excurrent and tips hyaline, smooth, not ridged on back, in cross-section ventral hyalocysts thick-walled, dorsally stereids in 2-3 rows, upper cells oval to oblong, basal cells thin(firm)-walled, and alar cells well developed. The type of this species was collected by Edith Knoche in the early 20th century from Cordillera Real. Synonyms for C. edithae include Campylopus andicolaThér., C. harpophyllus Herzog and C. thysanomitrioides Thér.
 
Campylopus edithae se caracteriza por los tallos con hojas, hojas adpresas lanceoladas 4-5 mm de largo, ápices incurvados, costa excurrente y hialino extremos, lisa, no estriada en el envés, en corte transversal hialocistos ventralescon paredes gruesas, estereídas dorsales en 2-3 filas, células superiores ovales a oblongas, células basalescon paredes delgadas (firmes), y células alares bien desarrolladas. El tipo de esta especie fue colectado por Edith Knoche a inicios del siglo XX enla Cordillera Real. Los sinónimos de C. edithae incluyen aCampylopus andicola Thér., C. harpophyllus Herzog y C. thysanomitrioides Thér.
