Plants rather robust, yellowish green, slightly glossy, in loose tufts. Stems ca. 5 cm high, usually simple, tomentose below. Leaves ovate-lanceolate, linear-lanceolate toward apex, ca. 2–3 mm long, hardly sheathing at base, ca. 0.7–0. 8 mm wide, plicate, more or less decurrent; margins narrowly recurved; costae percurrent; upper leaf cells linear, thick-walled; median cells linear-rectangular, 25–30 µm × 4.0–4.5 µm, ventrally papillose, dorsally smooth; basal cells rectangular, 40–50 µm × 5–8 µm, thin-walled, hyaline; basal juxtacostal cells on both side of costa differentiated into half-circles. Dioicous. Setae 2–3 cm long; capsules pyriform, with large apophyses; mouth small.
