Habitat & Distribution:

Habitat: on forest ground in shady and wet places or thin soil over rocks; alt. 1500–4100 m.

Cryptog. Bryol. Lichénol. 1: 70. 1980. Rhizogonium dozyanum Sande Lac., Ann. Mus. Bot. Lugduno-Batavum 2: 295. pl. 9. 1866. Type: Indonesia.
 
Plants robust, yellowish green or brownish green, sometimes reddish brown, in dense tufts. Stems 5–8 cm high, erect, sometimes flexuous, simple or branched in clusters, densely radiculose throughout stems. Leaves dense, narrowly lanceolate, 8–11 mm × 1.0 mm; margins differentiated, multi-stratose, entire below, double-toothed above; costae percurrent, dentate at back; leaf cells quadrate to hexagonal, 8–14 mm × 5–8 mm, thick-walled; basal cells rectangular, usually yellowish. Dioicous. Perichaetial leaves 4–6 mm long, sheathing at base, abruptly lanceolate. Setae near the median part of stems, 3–4 cm long, yellowish brown; capsules cylindrical, often curved at back, 3 mm long, inclined to horizontal; opercula rostrate; annuli well developed; exostome teeth lanceolate, coarsely papillose; endostome segments well developed. Calyptrae cucullate. Spores 13–18 µm in diameter, densely papillose.
