Acroporium estrellae is distinguished by its small size, to 3 cm or less, and narrow oblong-lanceolate leaves (to 1.5 mm long). This is a rather inconspicuous species that may prove to be more common in Bolivia and the tropical Andes with further critical collecting. Sematophyllum ulicinum Mitt. is a synonym.
