Notes :
  1. Due to confusion between the homonyms Marsdenia grandiflora (Decne.) Choux (a synonym of S. grandiflora) and M. grandiflora Norman (an African sp), the presence of the genus in Madagascar has been questioned.
  2. African species formerly treated as Dregea are now transferred to Stephanotis (Liede-Schumann etal., 2022).
