Notes : Lysimachia arvensis (formerly Anagallis arvensis), a widespread weed, has never been collected with certainty in Madagascar. Two specimens at P collected by Saboureau are labelled 'Madagascar', but this is believed to be an error.

Peltier recognised 6 species in his Flore Mad. treatment (in Anagallis), but it is doubtful whether L. peploides can be consistently separated from L. nummulariifolia since capsules are not always present. The two varieties of L. nummulariifolia may deserve specific level recognition and L. tsaratananae is supposed to be distinguished based on floral characters, but only a bud seems to have been examined.
