Some currently accepted names of Garcinia were recognized in the Flore treatment under the generic synonyms Ochrocarpos and Rheedia. One species, Garcinia mangostana, also commonly known as 'mangosteen' and used around the world, has been cultivated in Madagascar (D'Arcy 15234).
