Details: Toxicity: Seeds of some Vicia (vetch) species contain toxins that cause neurological symptoms, which can be removed by cooking and washing (Ressler et al. 1997). Foliage of vetch species is usually edible to livestock but sometimes causes dermatological problems accompanied by general inflammation, sometimes with a high fatality rate.
