Fuchsia chiapensis Brandegee, Univ. Calif. Publ. Bot. 6: 59 (1914). Holotipo: México. Chiapas, Purpus 6707 (UC!). Ilustr.: Berry, Novon 6: 138, t. 2 (1996).

Fuchsia heterotricha Lundell.

Hojas 1.5-4(-5) × 8-2.3(-3) cm, membranáceas, generalmente glabras, elíptico-ovadas, la base cuneada, los márgenes subenteros a dentados, aplanados, el ápice cuneado; pecíolo 8-23 mm. Tubo floral 5-11 mm en flores bisexuales, 4-6 mm en flores pistiladas, peloso. Bosques de neblina, bosques de Pinus-Quercus. Ch ( Croat 47317, MO); G ( Croat 41081, MO); ES ( Villacorta y Cortez 737, MO). 1800-2400 m. (Endémica.)
