Comment/Acknowledgements:

A western Irano-Turanian element, seems to be rare or under-collected in our area. Northern Baluchistan (Pakistan) seems to be the eastern most limit of this taxon.

Annual, 5-15 cm, hairy, erect herb with simple or branched stem. Leaves 4, below the inflorescence, nearly whorled, 5-20 x 2-8 mm, lancoelate, to ovate, serrate to entire, densely crispy hairy, sessile to shortly petiolate. Raceme terminal, 10-20-flowered, sparsely glandular hairy; peduncle 1-6 cm long; pedicel 8-16 mm long in fruit, almost patent, capillary; bracts 2-3 mm long, narrowly elliptic to subspathulate, alternate or opposite. Fruiting calyx 2-3 mm long, lobes free or basally connate in pairs, glandular and eglandular hairy, lobes obtuse, 1-1.5 mm broad, ovate. Corolla 4-5 mm across, longer than calyx, whitish to pink. Stamens exserted by 2-2.5 mm. Capsule obcordate, 2-2.5 x 3-3.5 mm, glandular hairy, sinus ¼th deep; style 1-2 mm long, exserted. Seeds 1.3-1.8 x 0.9-1.2 mm, cup-shaped, 4-6 per capsule, yellowish, slightly ribbed.
