Comment/Acknowledgements:

There is a very old record of this species from Kashmir (Royle, collected in 1835); this was also cited in Hook.f., l.c. and mentioned by Stewart, l.c. However, Pennell (l.c.) saw no material from Kashmir and considered that this species did not extend west of Chamba (India: Himachal Pradesh). The only large yellow-flowered species known to occur in Kashmir is P. bicornuta and the record may apply to that species (a specimen collected by Royle is cited in the account of P. bicornuta given here), or else the locality information in the original record is wrong.
