General notes:
Ding Hou (1960) noted that the species was known from only three collections. One collection, De Vogel 5155 (L! online image), was reported for Sulawesi by Kessler et al. (2002), based on a qualified determination of G. cf. moluccana by Ding Hou in 1980. It is true that the inflorescence, flowers, and fruits of De Vogel 5155 match the description provided by Ding Hou (1960), and the collection also keys out to that species in his treatment, but the leaves are quite different (e.g., much broader) compared to the type from the Moluccas. The species is only tentatively reported here for Sulawesi.
