General notes

Ding Hou (1960) noted that the species is cultivated in Sabron near Hollandia on clay soil at 120 m for the bark, which is used by the Papuans for making bags (BW 5468). Naithani (Fl. Pl. India, Nepal & Bhutan: 368. 1990) noted the species for the Nicobar Islands, but the record may be based on cultivated or naturalized material.
