This species is characterized by its rather slender habit; its small, generally oblanceolate, thin-textured leaves; its small, solitary, subsessile flowers; its calyx limb ca. 1 mm long; and its slender white corollas with the tube 2.2-2.8 cm long. This species is similar to several other slender Ixora species with solitary subsessile flowers, in particular Ixora clandestina and Ixora bemangidiensis with larger leaves; see De Block (2007) for more details and a key to separate these.
