Notes:
This species is apparently known only from the type (though the P herbarium has not been searched for this conclusion), which notes on the label that its occurence locally was rare. It is characterized by its short persistent bilobed stipules; small leaves that are broadest near the apex and tapered to the sessile or subsessile base; terminal cymose inflorescences; and shortly pedicellate flowers and fruits. It is similar to Psychotria fissicorne, which has been collected more frequently.
