Alternate Note: Interpretation of isolated Greenland and Canadian arctic occurrences, shared with other narrow endemics, suggests the presence of Nardus stricta there is independent of human activity. Whether it is indigenous to the New World flora due to vicariance, or natural long-distance-dispersal remains to be tested. (RJS 2017)
