Notes:
This species is characterized by its short triangular stipules, medium-sized leaves, lax terminal inflorescences with the flowers pedicellate and often rather umbelliform in arrangement, small calyx lobes, medium-sized usually green or dark-colored corollas, and medium-sized fruits. The specimens frequently (though not always) dry with a rather dark color. This species is widespread and, as mentioned by Puff & Buchner (1994), rather notable for its morphological consistency across its range. They reported this species from central through northern Madagascar; specimens from Andohahela in southern Madagascar are not separable morphologically and are also included here, extending the range of Danais humblotii. This appears to be the kind of widespread species that is not particularly common (or commonly collected) in any specific locality.
