Notes:
This species has been collected recently in littoral forest; the habitat of the type collection was not noted. Leroy (1974) described Mantalania capuronii based on a single fruiting specimen from southern Madagascar, and also presented a description of another, similar specimen with flowers from central Madagascar that he called "Mantalania cf. capuronii; see the discussion of this on the Mantalania page.
