Notes:
This species is characterized by its low, shrubby, dioecious habit and well developed calyx lobes on the pistillate flowers and fruits, 1-1.7 mm long. Puff (1986) noted that the leaf anatomy of this species appears to be unique in Anthospermum in the "cone-like cells filled with dark contents which are associated with the lower epidermis".
