Notes:
The plants of Craterispermum in Madagascar were long treated as Craterispermum laurinum, but Verdcourt (1973: Kew Bull. 28: 433-436) showed that this particular species is restricted to West Africa. Plants of Craterispermum in East Africa have also been confused with Craterispermum laurinum, but Verdcourt also showed here that the East African plants are a distinct species that corresponds to Craterispermum schweinfurthii; plants of Madagascar have also been confused with Craterispermum schweinfurthii, but Craterispermum schweinfurthii is also an entirely continental African species. Some species of Craterispermum in Madagascar are generally similar to this African species, but the Craterispermum species in Madagascar are different and endemic to the island (De Block & Randriambovonjy, 2015). The data here were compiled historically by the MadCat project, and cannot be confidently assigned to another species of this genus because the source of the data is unknown so they are left here for now. !CMT II 2020
