General/Distribution: A genus with about 30 species, mainly Asiatic in distribution, locally represented by 5 species.

Herbs or subshrubs. Leaf palmately trifoliolate or 1-foliolate; leaflets glandular punctate below, stipules deciduous, stipels absent. Inflorescence terminal or axillary, raceme or panicle. Calyx lobes longer than the tube, usually glandular. Corolla greenish or yellowish. Vexillum oblong or elliptic, with inflexed basal auricles. Wings narrow. Stamens diadelphous, 9+1, vexillary stamen free, anthers uniform. Ovary subsessile, 2-ovuled, style enlarged above, stigma small. Fruit inflated, 2-seeded.
