General notes:
Urbani (1992) cited the distribution of the subspecies as the eastern foothills of the Alps and the Italian and Austrian Alps, Carnia, Istria [Croatia] and Bulgaria. Halda (2001) recognized this variety from the typical variety by the smaller petiolate leaves and pedunculate flowers with acute lobes.
