Notes: This species is characterized by its hirsute pubescence; obovate leaves that are generally broadly rounded to truncate with a very short deltate tip and have scattered stiff trichomes on the upper surface; reddish brown drying color; short cymose axillary or regularly pseudoaxillary inflorescences; small calyx limbs and corollas; and small fruits. It is quite similar to Pychotria rosella, but Psychotria rosella differs in its dense short velvety pubescence and leaves that are glabrous on the upper surface.
