Notes
:
This species is characterized by its rather narrowly elliptic, well developed, thin-textured leaves with domatia and the well developed apex slenderly acuminate; its short stipules with two linear lobes; its shortly pedunculate, corymibiform inflorescences; its small flowers that are separated from each other on short (to 1 mm long) pedicels or inflorescences axes; its short yellow corollas; and its medium-sized red fruits. It is similar in aspect to some species of Apomuria, in particular Apomuria angustifolia. Bremekamp documented this species by several specimens from northwestern Madagascar, and modern collections form this region match the type and the descripion; he also reported this from Ile Sainte-Marie in eastern Madagascar, based on a Boivin collection that has not been seen for this study.
