Notes
:
This species is characterized by its puberulous to pilosulous habit; its somewhat small, elliptic, thin-textured leaves with domatia and the apices acute its bilobed stipules; its pedunculate, several-flowered, cymose inflorescences; its shortly but regularly and its pedicellate small flowers with a short calyx limb and short yellow corollas. It was described based on two collections, and is not well characterized. Bremekamp classified this species in his circumscription of Mapouria, which was diagnosed by pyrene and seed characters, even though he did not see its fruits. This species seems to be similar to Psychotria tsarataranensis and Psychotria bathieana, both with sessile flowers.
