Flowers usually solitary in the leaf axils, occasionally 2 or more; sepals oblong-lanceolate to lanceolate, 3-5 mm long, pubescent; corollas white or pale blue, 7-12 mm broad; ovary glabrous. Fruits capsular, globose to ovoid, 4-5 mm in diameter, reflexed, seeds brown, smooth.

This species is most commonly confused with E. alsinoides. They may be distinguished by the long-pedunculate inflorescences of E. alsinoicdes and the non-pedunculate, but pedicellate flowers of E. sericeus.
