Ecology. Yungas and Tucuman-Bolivian montane forest to shrubby puna; shaded to more commonly partly to fully exposed sites, on shrubs, trunk and branches, treelets and trees, also tree ferns, occasionally found on rocks. Elevation. 1500-3722 m. Distribution. Bolivia: Cochabamba, La Paz, Santa Cruz. World range: Pantropical (at mostly high elevations) and subtemperate.
 
Ecología. Bosque montano de Yungas y Tucumano-boliviano a puna arbustiva; sitios sombrados a más comúnmente en parcialmente a completamente expuestos, sobre arbustos, troncos y ramas, arbolitos y árboles, también helechos arbóreos, ocasionalmente se encuentra sobre rocas. Altitud. 1500-3722 m. Distribución. Bolivia: Cochabamba, La Paz y Santa Cruz. Distribución mundial: Pantropical (generalmente a grandes altitudes) y regiones subtempladas.
 
Zygodon reinwardtii is characterized by the undulate, lanceolate to elliptical-lanceolate leaves to 2.2 mm, acute apices, rather long decurrent leaf bases, toothed (often strongly so) margin at the apex, synoicous sexual condition, setae to 15, erect to slightly oblique, 8-ribbed, cylindrical capsules to ca. 3 mm, single peristome, low endostomal basal membrane and 8 hyaline segments. Nearly identical is Z. ramulosus Herzog except for the autoicous sexual state. Zygodon subdenticulatus Hampe, a name used previously in Bolivia, is a synonym. In Bolivia this species is common in the Yungas, but apparently rare in the Tucuman-Bolivian montane. This species is described and illustrated by Calabrese (2006).
 
Zygodon reinwardtii se caracteriza por las hojas lanceoladas a elíptico-lanceoladas, onduladas hasta 2.2 mm, ápices agudos, bases de las hojas bastante largo decurrentes, márgenes dentados en el ápice (a menudo marcadamente), condición sexual sinoica, setas hasta 15, cápsulas cilíndricas, erectas a escasamente oblicuas, 8 costilladas, hasta ca. 3 mm, peristoma simple, membrana basal del endostoma baja y con 8 segmentos hialinos. Casi idéntica a Z. ramulosus Herzog excepto por el estado sexual autoico. Zygodon subdenticulatus Hampe, un nombre utilizado previamente en Bolivia, es un sinónimo. En Bolivia esta especie es común en los Yungas, pero aparentemente rara en el montano Tucumano-boliviano. Esta especie fue descrita e ilustrada por Calabrese (2006).
